A traveller and diarist from Florence
Marco Orsini
He begins with literature beneath his feet. Life carries him after that.

A novel by P.K. Vael
Between literature and life, he found himself.
Across continents and cities, through fleeting passions, unexpected friendships, silences, betrayals, and moments of startling intimacy, Marco begins to discover that life rarely behaves like literature.
The story
Marco Orsini was twenty-four when he left Florence. He carried a camera, a suitcase, and a head crowded with the voices of great writers. He believed that somewhere between their pages lay a truth capable of explaining love, loneliness, desire, beauty, and the strange ache of being alive.
What begins as a journey around the world becomes something far more personal: a private diary of the distance between knowing and understanding, between being touched and truly feeling, between the stories we inherit and the lives we eventually write for ourselves.
Inside the novel
Three spoiler-safe portraits, chosen to suggest the breadth of the novel without explaining its destinations.
